Ruffled Butterfly

One of the good things about cakes for my kids is I can experiment with new techniques. This one did not turn out quite right, but I thought all in all it was an ok cake. I will have to try this technique again. I have researched how to do it more and think I understand it better now and could actually make it work. Still, my daughter was happy with it.

 My 3 year old son insisted on helping me. He cut out these flowers and added centers for them. Then he was adamant they go on the cake. I gave them the whole back side of the cake to shine!
