My daughter thought I had put frosting on spaghetti noodles. The meatballs are actually cake balls. I offered some to my niece the next day and she was like, "no thanks." She quickly changed her tune when I assured her it was frosting not pasta! It was fun to do.

I had some strawberries that just weren't getting eaten. I know, strawberries not getting eaten, but hey, some weeks crazy things happen. Anyhow I was trying to figure out what to do with them and decided to do some experimenting. I thought it would be fun to make a strawberry buttercream. I have only made the basic buttercream and wanted to try another kind. So, I looked up some recipes and got a general idea than went to it. It turned out fabulous! So yummy. I made cupcakes to put it on, Delicious moist chocolate fudge/pudding cupcakes! So good. I decorated the cupcakes with little butterflies.

I had the opportunity to make a super fun cake today. My friend is expecting a baby, #3. She asked me to make a cake to tell them the sex of the baby. Today she went in for the ultra sound after it the tech called me to tell me what the baby was. The outside of the cake is a fun neutral cake. They didn't want to know until they cut it, so the inside frosting reveals the baby's sex!

I had some frosting that needed to be used so: I had to make a cake! My 5 year old daughter of course wanted to help me. So we mixed up a cake then baked it. I quickly cooled it (thank you freezer) and frosted it, 5 year olds are not patient (plus it was bed time)! While it was cooling she cut out some fondant flowers. Then after it was frosted she put them on, all over! It has a few too many flowers for my taste, but it is her cake so I had to let her do it. It was very pretty and tasted great!

My daughter learned all about April Fool's day in preschool. Since she understood it, I decided to play my own little joke on her. This is what I made her for dinner. Grilled cheese sandwiches, cupcakes and Juice. She was excited to have cupcakes. And juice is not a common thing in our house, so that too excited her.This is where the joke came in: It was not juice; it was jello. It was not grilled cheese; it was angel food cake, toasted with frosting I colored orange. It was not cupcakes; it was meatloaf with mashed potato frosting!It was a fun joke and a tatsy dinner. I don't think I ever told my daughter before she had to eat her cupcake before she got her sandwich!

I recently had a great challenge. To make a football helmet cake for a birthday! Not just any football team, the Buffalo Bills. I was ready for this challenge and enjoyed making it. It was a challenge, and took time. I was pretty happy with how it came out though. I loved the football field that it was sitting on. Also, I was pleased with the buffalo logo. While making it I was kind of wishing he was a fan of a team with an easier logo, (like the Cowboys) but in the end, I was glad for the challenge and super happy with the way it turned out. I will admit, after 2 tries and broken parts, I gave in and used a wire support for the face mask. The rest is all edible though.

Bedtime and Friend

I made this little number for my daughter's 5th Birthday. I asked her what she wanted her cake to look like. She told me she wanted it to have her and bedtime bear on it holding hands! Well, I did my best and she loved it. I saw lots of care bear cakes, they all had a blue and white theme to go with clouds, but I decided to incorporate her favorite colors, pink and green. She told me the cake was perfect. Gotta love a 5 year old.
The frosting is buttercream and the white is fondant. I made the figures out of fondant also. This was my first attempt at making figures, and I have to say, it was pretty fun. I was pleased with how they turned out. This was a really fun cake to make.

I wanted to make a halloween cake this year. However, do to life, it didn't happen. I did get the cake frosted and the black frosting made, and that is as far as I got. I was going to do it today anyhow, but my daughter was around. So, this is the cake I ended up with along with the help of my almost 5 year old daughter. I thought it turned out really cute though. I like the black and white together. My husbands birthday is today so even though this is a little on the girly side, we put some candles on it and sang. I went with yellow flowers because, well frankly, because I had yellow candles. I think you coud use any color or any flower and get just the right pop of color for any occasion.

So a website that makes t-shirts, Threadless, had a cake contest. You make a cake based on one of their t-shirt designs. Well, I decided to go ahead and do it. Knowing it would all just be for fun. I debated and debated and finally decided to do it. My cake is very amature compared to some, and definitely will not be winning, but it was still fun to make it. Actually, I picked a stressful time to decide to do it. Over all I was happy with the outcome. I thought it was a decent looking cake. Oh the flaws it had, but if you glance at it and don't look too hard, it is passable for cute. I hesitated to enter it because there were so many that were a TON better, but figured I had spent the time making it, I might as well submit it. You name it I can probably make it. Just let me know what kind of a cake you would want and we can go from there.
I can also do different flavors for different layers.
We can also do creams or fruit fillings in the layers, it is your cake, lets make it how you want it.

Pricing

Buttercream cakes begin at $2.00 a serving.
Fondont cakes begin at $2.25 a serving.
Dummy cakes begin at $150 and include a real top layer for cutting/freezing.

Final prices of cakes are determined by degree of difficulty, my time into them and embellishments. Embellishments include icing flowers or fondant flowers and anything else that would take time, materials and money.

I will deliver a cake free to Rexburg and Idaho Falls, including inbetween. Anything further than that will be charged a delivery fee. This is determined by distance and gas prices. I will also add a set up and take down fee to your final cost. Take down is pretty easy, and you can do it your self, but if you require me to be there, I can be. Cakes some with stands and at times pillars or mirrors. Anything that is mine can be returned to me in a reasonable amount of time by the family, saving you a take down fee. I will ask for a cash deposit to cover the cost of these materials should I not get them back. This money will be returned to you upon delivery of my materials.

A nonrefundable deposit of $50 is required on wedding cakes. With the remaining balance due two weeks before the delivery date. I am sure we can figure out a cake that will work into your budget.

I can copy almost any picture I see. I will let you know if I can't do it.

Where will you deliver to?

I am located in Rigby, Idaho, I will travel, but for a fee. That will be determined by the cost of gas and location.

Will you set up and take down the cake?

I will definatley set up the cake, as for taking down, that can be determined by a one on one basis.

How do I get the supplies returned to you after my reception?

Getting the supplies and materials returned to me will be, again, on a one on one basis. We will work something out that will work for both of us.

Do you rent out your supplies?

No, sorry, I do not rent them out.

I am not planning on serving my cake, can you make me a "fake" cake?

Yes, I can use "cake dummies" which look like the real thing, but can not be cut. I will make a real layer for the "cutting of the cake" and for freezing for the one year anniversary if you want.

I am planning on serving sheet cakes at my wedding reception instead of the wedding cake, do you make those?

Yes, I can provide you with sheet cakes if you want along with the wedding cake.
